When I was a child I would get car sick riding in taxis, buses, or anybody’s car, except when my Dad would drive. When he drove, I would be so peaceful I would fall asleep. Why? Simple. I trusted my dad would get me there safe.

Colossians 2:6-7  As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord so walk in Him,

rooted and build up in Him and established in the faith,  as you have been taught, abounding in it with Thanksgiving.

So, where does peace come from/originate?

  1. It comes from Him, who is in charge. I trusted my father in everything. My dad gave me peace. “You have received Christ Jesus the Lord (WALK IN HIM).” That means trust Him.
  2. Peace comes from a good report. Mom would say, “Don’t worry, Dad is driving.”  My Dad, when he was young, was a top driver for the British and American Army. He was a proven driver. v. 7 “Established in faith as you have been taught.” I listened to the songs that my grandmother sang in the kitchen when bullets were flying in our city, “It is well with my soul,”, or “He will never leave us nor forsake us.

  3. Peace comes from previous experiences. Do you remember in times past how God watched over you? You response was, “Thank you, God!”

Well, God is the same YESTERDAY, TODAY, and FOREVER.

I remind myself every morning who is in charge. I look into the scripture for good reports of those whom have gone before us. I am reminded by the Holy Spirit of God’s blessing in my life.

Today be rooted and established, peace will follow.
