COLOSSIANS 3:22-24

Someone said, “Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.”

There are times when we are trapped in an unpleasant job, and it’s like a death with a thousand cuts. Today many are working from home. There isn’t the person looking over your shoulder, yet there are many demands. Working from home, or at the physical workplace, there is someone whom we have to please.

Do you love God? Then work for the one you love. John 5:17 … on His defense, Jesus said to them “My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working.” Why is God working? Because, He loves His creation and that is you and me. “JESUS, THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM, ENDURED THE CROSS.”

Someone might say, “Why kill myself? The MAN does not deserve me.” While working in the grocery industry, I worked for some terrible bosses. I knew I was working for the Lord, but my human boss was making my life miserable. I prayed, and the Lord moved some and promoted me from under others. My joy was restored to me.

Maybe, we need an attitude check. v. 22 “work with a sincere heart fearing God.” Inward attitude: Trying in every way to get out of work. Outward attitude: Always grumbling and complaining.

Paul uses v. 22, a BOND SERVANT, whose purpose was, when working to please his master. We are working for the Master, (God), and He is a loving father, who reminds us, whom we are working for towards His glory and our good.

Remember the ultimate Authority is God who sees our heart and motive.

May Lord bless you as you serve Him.
